Portrait photography is, for me, the heart of the job.

It's about getting out and meeting people — finding out what makes them tick, what they care about, how they got to where they are.

That conversation is where the picture really begins. A portrait isn't just a likeness; it's a connection made visible.

Get to know someone a little, and the camera stops being a barrier. People relax, you see them properly, and the pictures are better for it.

I've been shooting location portraits for decades now, and the thrill of it has never worn off. New face, new place, new story — every single time.

Some portraits are there to build trust, for a business or a brand. Some are there to tell a story. Some are simply a record of a person at a moment in their life.

The famous and the not so famous — honestly, I don't differentiate. Everyone walks into the frame with something worth capturing.

Light, location, and a bit of chat. That's the recipe. I like to work with whatever a room or a street gives me, rather than wrestle it into something it isn't.

Shoot a bit tighter and bolder when the space demands it, but never lose the person inside the style. The picture has to feel like them, not like me.
